Roma or Oslo?
Choose Roma when you want more room through the seat and thigh with a straight Comfort Fit shape. Choose Oslo when you prefer a neater Modern Fit but need extra flexibility at the waist for sitting, driving or travel.
Chicago or Dublin?
Both use Meyer’s Modern Fit proportions. Chicago has diagonal pockets and a polished chino appearance. Dublin uses rounded swing pockets and has a slightly sportier character, particularly in denim.
Chinos or M5 five-pocket trousers?
Chinos use side pockets and work well with shirts, knitwear and smarter shoes. M5 trousers and jeans have familiar five-pocket styling and are better suited to relaxed outfits, while retaining Meyer’s stretch fabrics and detailed construction.
Why does the fabric number matter?
The model name tells you the fit; the article or fabric number distinguishes the cloth. A Roma 316 cotton chino and Roma 344 wool-mix trouser share the Roma shape but feel, drape and perform differently. Always check the product’s fabric and seasonal description.
Meyer’s approach to responsible production
Meyer combines closely controlled European production with certified materials and durable construction. The exact fabric and certification vary by style, so check each product page for the details that apply to that particular pair.
Made in Meyer’s own European facilities
Meyer manufactures its trousers in its own European production facilities, giving the company direct oversight of workmanship, working conditions and quality control from cutting through to final finishing.
Organic and Fairtrade cotton
Meyer uses organic cotton and certified Fairtrade cotton across relevant trouser ranges. These sourcing standards support more traceable cotton production; the product description identifies which material applies to an individual style.
Recognised certification
Depending on the product, Meyer uses standards including GOTS, MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX and Fairtrade Cotton. Because certification is product-specific, look for the named standard on the individual trouser page rather than assuming every style carries every certification.
Designed for a longer working life
Strong fabrics, detailed construction and dependable fit are central to Meyer’s approach. Choosing the right model and caring for its fabric correctly can help each pair remain useful for longer and reduce the need for premature replacement.

Meyer sizing and fit questions
What is the most comfortable Meyer trouser?
Roma offers the roomiest overall Comfort Fit. Oslo is better when the leg shape should remain modern but waistband pressure is the main concern, because its hidden stretch zones provide up to 8cm of movement.
Do all Meyer trousers fit the same?
No. Roma is a Comfort Fit, while Oslo, Chicago and Dublin belong to the Modern Fit family. M5 includes more than one fit, so check whether the product is marked Regular, Modern or MOVE rather than relying only on the M5 name.
Should I order my usual waist size?
Start with the waist and inside-leg size you normally wear, but compare the cut of the model you already own. Measure a well-fitting pair laid flat at the waistband and inside leg if you are uncertain. Oslo’s expanding waistband adds comfort; it should not be used to compensate for ordering a waist that is too small.
Which Meyer trousers are best for travel?
The Oslo is the clearest travel choice because the waistband can expand by up to 8cm while seated. M5 MOVE and selected performance-stretch styles are also useful where freedom of movement and easier care matter.
How do I find the same fit in another colour?
Match the model name first—Roma, Oslo, Chicago, Dublin or the exact M5 fit—then compare the fabric number. Colours within the same model and fabric are the closest equivalent; changing the fabric may alter the feel and drape even when the cut remains the same.
Already own Meyer trousers?
Check the model name and article number on the existing pair, then use this guide to find the same fit in another fabric or move deliberately to a different shape. See the Meyer best sellers for proven colours and seasonal favourites.
